Urban Food Factory

Due to the increasing urbanization, the production of healthy and safe food in the urban environment is high on the agenda. Circular self-sufficient buildings enable fully industrialized food production close to the consumer. These buildings include the use of bio-based building materials, intensive data measurement and analysis, real-time process control, self-managing climate control, sustainable energy generation, closed water balance, purifying air balance and energy-efficient and controlled growth lighting.

This use case aims, with the help of regional partners, to turn this circular "Brightlands Foodhouse" concept into an economic success and international game changer.
